This week has been pretty ho-hum so my Thankful Thursday highlights are not all that exciting. They’re just a continuation of my life 🙂 BUT! Today is the first day of Spring and we had 50+ temperatures so that is exciting!
1. We had dinner at two of our daughters’ homes on two different days. To see and be with our kids and grandkids is always a blessing, not to mention the fun time we have with our family. I think we are all getting anxious for grilling weather so that is what one of my sons-in-law did and boy was it delicious!
2. Woohoo, we finalized plans for my friend’s Bachelorette party and Bridal Shower! We are going to have a hibachi grill dinner and then go out on the town on Saturday nite, then gather the next day in a private room at a close-by bar for the Shower festivities. It’s a bit much but two of the gals in the Bridal party are from out of town and that’s just how we decided to do it 🙂
3. Did ya’ll celebrate St. Paddy’s Day? My husband’s aunt’s birthday is on this day. She turned 94 and wanted to play at the Casino so about 12 of us went for the lunch buffet and most of them played at the machines for awhile. A few of them came out ahead and were happy. My husband and I aren’t really into gambling so we didn’t part with our money. lol
4. We attended another family funeral this week. I really don’t like going to them. I know that sometimes this event can be/is looked at as a celebration of life, but it is still so sad to watch the deceased one’s family and to feel what I feel when I go there and be reminded of my own losses. If you’ve heard of the saying “They come in threes”, then hopefully we won’t have any more for awhile as this was the third death in my extended family.
Do the Happy Dance. Spring has actually sprung!
