Good morning! It’s Thankful Thursday again already. And we still have the Indian Summer days. I can never have too much of the temperatures being in the 70s. #itisperfect
1. I finished my part-time job in two days this month. Woohoo! The second day went pretty smoothly and it’s a good thing. My mentor was off on a mini vacation and I was on my own – which I am anyway, but she’s there in case I need help with something really difficult. I was just grateful there were no complicated issues to deal with!
2. The fall colors are showing up around the towns here. I read that northeast Iowa will peak this coming weekend and the rest of Iowa the following weekend. Anyone planning on driving around the hills to take in the beauty of the earthen colors?
3. Our baby girl asked us to go camping on one of the weekend days, but the weather got pretty cold and put a damper on our enthusiasm. Our son-in-law cooked dinner for us instead and then we played a naughty board game. :O It was FUN!
4. Traveler Tidbit of the week: I know I’m little (short), but this big guy named Gary L. from IL kept calling me “little one” as I helped him find some literature. “I’m just fine, Little One, how are you?” “Thank you, Little One.” “You have a good day too, Little One.” I had to try really hard not to laugh as I kept picturing myself as a teeny tiny person. lol
On the Fitness and Nutrition Front
I finished the 30-day Country Heat workout calendar today. I’m going to do it again cos I like the workouts so well.
I had to use up some leftover char sui, so one nite for dinner I combined it with some roasted broccoli and sauteed sweet peppers and onions for a yummy stir fry.
