I don’t see the sun shining this Thankful Thursday. But it’s still a great day – in the low 80’s and not hot at all. Unfortunately, there’s been a few stressful moments over the past week.
1. We’ve had some kind of infestation of spiders of sorts in our area. I’m seeing a couple different kinds of black spiders daily and I just dread going into our dark basement. Think old farm house! Then we have the jumper spiders in our mailbox of all places and I’ve taken the Raid can with me to get the mail the last few days. You may laugh, but my heart just races when I have to open the mailbox and stick my hand in there. One day as I reached for the envelope, it moved forward!!! I about crapped my pants. These are not teeny tiny spiders…they are at least 3/4 to 1.5 inches in length.
2. Mister got off early one day and made a quickie stop at the Center on his way fishing. That was a HUGE highlight! 🙂
3. When I left for work Sunday morning and everything was still so quiet, I heard the neighbor’s rooster crowing again. That made me think of Maui on the drive to work.
4. Traveler Tidbit of the week: Michael G. from AZ stopped in, said hello and exclaimed, “You are drop dead gorgeous!” I said “Thank You” (of course), but had to chuckle out of nervousness as it embarrassed me. I’ve only had one other traveler say that to me and it must have been him cos he said he remembered me from last year when he stopped in. Hmmmm…
On the Fitness and Nutrition Front
I believe I sprained my foot or ankle the last time I did Country Heat. The move is like the mashed potato dance, only your feet go forward and backward instead of just in one spot. It’s not a difficult one, but my sneakers don’t slide very well on my kitchen linoleum. 🙁 Anyway, so I’ve been off three days from work now and haven’t worked out at all. #bummer
Well, I started and finished a 3-day liquid fast over the weekend and accomplished a 4.5 lb. loss. I was just tickled to make it back into the 120s again! It wasn’t all that difficult to do. My mind was occupied with the squeaky doors constantly opening and closing in and out of the Rest Area across the breezeway from the Welcome Center. It’s usually only one set of sliding doors and I’ve tuned the squeal out. But over the weekend, it was two sets of doors so it sounded like screaming children throwing a tantrum all the time. It made me look up every time for several hours.
I did get a bit hungry on the second day, so I ‘cheated’ and had string cheese that evening and also on the third evening.

Hope foot gets better soon.
I sprained it two weeks ago today and it feels pretty normal now. I can walk without limping 🙂 Yay!
