I have to chuckle. A couple recent ‘events’ has me wondering, “Is my nest empty or is it new?”.  All my adult life I’ve been told that I don’t look my age and I especially take pride in that fact since I only seriously started my fitness and health journey at age 50.  I didn’t like it when I was younger and wanted to be ‘older’ or when I would constantly get carded cos people didn’t believe I was telling the truth.  Sometimes I still get that ‘look’ lol I  believe there’s a number of reasons that this is my reality.  I come from very good genes.  My mother is 83 and does not look it.  My grandparents lived to be in their 80s and 90s.  I don’t know for sure if this longevity pattern is connected to youthfulness per se, but I kinda tend to want to think that it is.  I also have taken care of myself for a very long time with my eating habits and physical activity so I believe it’s made a difference.  I have also been practicing positive mental attitude for over 30 years. I firmly believe that THAT has had a tremendous impact on my well-being and is why my reality has remained the way it is.

Anyway, the reason I am chuckling is becos I’ve been getting mail lately from AARP, Medicare and other mail for senior citizens and I get it.  I am at an early ‘retirement’ age (even tho I don’t feel it!)  So what have I received in the mail this week?  A subscription ad for Highlights to enroll my child and get free gifts and a term life application from Gerber Life Insurance for my new family. What???  Guess their computers aren’t hooked up to the ones that say I’m at retirement age and that I am an empty nester with 4 adult married children.  Too funnee!

Is my nest empty or is it new
So I guess I’ll continue to file all this mail in the round file 😀
