I’m a work out at home kinda gal so who would have thought I would be working out (half unexpectedly) at – of all places – the dentist? Yep, I went in for a consultation/diagnosis and knew I had to have one tooth pulled and maybe the second one too if it couldn’t be saved. But let’s back up a little…I haven’t been to the dentist in over a decade and part of the reason is I think too much about it and eventually scare myself out of the trip. But this time I HAD to go…it was time to take care of a couple issues (one being a toothache). So I’m sitting there having a nice conversation with the dentist and his assistant and going over my options. I could feel my blood pressure rising cos I had to make a decision and I knew pain was going to be involved. (did I mention I don’t like pain?) Well, after having this urge to cry and run away, I make a decision and I end up getting the extractions – yes, plural – done right then and there! What does this have to do with a workout? Well, a good cardio session gets your heart rate up, right? Need I say more???? I was flushed and almost sweating. I could have sworn my blood pressure was way high but I started at 133/80 and when it was over, it was 140/80. To tell you the truth, I don’t know what all that means, but I think it was still good….only a 7 point difference.
All I can say is thank goodness I had done my ‘real’ dvd workout at home that morning! Becos I was in NO mood to do anything afterwards. And this was just an extra workout 😀
YIKES! that is a workout, also called “white coat fright!” good thing you got your workout in early. way to go for it getting those extractions done!
I prefer the more ‘normal’ workouts, Charlotte 😀 Not as stressful haha
