I’m so blessed to be blogging this Thankful Thursday from my home island of Maui. It was a long 14 hours to get here, but we’re now having the time of our lives. So much has changed in even the last 2 1/2 years since I’ve been home; but since this is a tourist-driven Paradise, I guess “that’s what’s called progress!”
1. It’s always great to see, and be with my family – ohana – when I come to visit. Everyone is so grown-up! What are you called when your niece’s daughter has a baby? That’s what I’m going to be in a couple months! WOW!!!! It seems these two girls were babies themselves just yesterday!
2. It’s always fun to go back to my stomping grounds of past days when I come to visit too. Mister and I have been toodling around and I’ve had a great time reminiscing and sharing my memories with him.
3. There is one disappointment this trip – it’s winter and tho the temperature’s in the 80’s, the ocean is colder than when I’ve been here in the summer months when the water is warmer. So far I haven’t been swimming in the ocean…
On the Fitness and Nutrition Front
There hasn’t been any formal – aka – dvd workouts for a week. The last few days before vacation, I did a lot of packing and unpacking…and packing. Then there was all that walking in the airports the day of travel. And since then I’ve been walking the sandy beaches and the malls for my “workouts”.
I always like to eat certain foods that I don’t usually get to in my normal world, so I’ve been catching up in that department and keeping it as clean as possible. Mostly I’ve been eating out at lunch time while out and about then in the evening we’ve been cooking and eating in. This is what I made tonite – Portuguese sausage (hot and mild) with veggies – sweet peppers, zucchini, onion, carrots.
