Woohoo!  I can still see the buildings and fields when I get home around 6:25 from work! I AM EXCITED!  (can you tell????)  Soon I won’t need to have my lights on when leaving work.  Here’s my happy highlights for this Thankful Thursday post.

1.  I mentioned in last week’s post that one of our daughters was out of state on a missionary trip.  My granddaughter was on the same trip with her mom.  My son-in-law went to meet their plane so we decided to take our two grandsons to supper that evening after I got off work.  It was a great time to visit and bond with the boys who are 19 and 12.  I love our grandkids – they are so individual and smart.  (yea, I know I sound like a biased gramma lol)

2.  We had our annual eye exam this week.  We both are getting new glasses.  I’ve had mine for 4 years and I’m excited to get a new look lol  Mister got a pair of safety ones.  While waiting to pay for our visit,  a lady that was waiting for a staff member came up to me and told me I had a beautiful smile and thanked me for sharing it with her and everyone around me.  That just made me smile even more and touched my heart!  I thought it was so kind of her to tell me that.

3.  We went out to lunch at a downtown bistro after the eye doctor.  Since our little town lost our bistro, it was a treat to go there.  The food is wonderful….I love a hot cup of soup and a sandwich on a cold winter day.

4.  I worked on my handcrafted greeting cards.  Made a couple baby cards – one for the little baby girl I made the blanket for and since I had the stuff out, I made a baby boy card for a future baby 🙂

5.  Mister has been doing my Power Walking workout with me.  How awesome is that???  He’s been on his seasonal layoff and has taken a few walks outside but when I’m at home and with it being so cold outside, he thought he’d join me.  He said it has helped him too!  He is so used to daily physical work that when he’s laid off, his muscles aren’t being worked as hard and that in turn makes him ache.  I’m glad it helps him, but I also like that we work out together 🙂
