I skipped last week’s Thankful Thursday post becos there weren’t any highlights except for the fact that the days are getting longer – little by little.  Oh, and my paychecks have been “nice”.

1.  There were no highlights becos I was too busy working both jobs.  I worked 11 days with only 2 days off in between so there was literally NO time for anything else!  Not kidding 🙁

2.  A severe ice storm was predicted for our area on the weekend.  So we scrambled to get some necessary things done in the city before it hit.  When all was said and done, it wasn’t as bad as everyone thought it’d be.  At least not for us and that was MY big highlight of the week!  It also helped since I wasn’t scheduled to work and I didn’t have to stress about driving 😀  You guessed it, I stayed INSIDE.

3.  My oldest grandson and his girlfriend stopped by work one day on their way back to school.  We had a really good, tho short visit and it amazes me how smart and focused these kids are!

4.  Traveler Tidbit of the week:  Lan N. from IA came into the Center with this kind of desperate look on her face and said to me, “I need your help very badly”.  She had ‘lost’ her cell phone in her car but could hear it ringing.  She just couldn’t find it.  I went with her to her car and could hear it very faintly ringing.  I pointed to a different spot from where she thought she was hearing it.  She looked and found it and was a very grateful traveler.  #Ilovemyjob

On the Fitness and Nutrition Front

I’m still doing Country Heat (when I’m not working!!!) and I even managed to get a Power Walk and some core conditioning in with Kathy Smith and Shaun T. this past week.  Variety is the spice of life (to an extent of course).

I had the day off on one of the really cold ones so I attempted to make homemade chicken noodle soup.  Here’s a picture of it in the pot; oh how I wish you could have tasted it.  Besides the chicken, noodles and water, I mixed in some sweet potatoes, sweet peppers, kale, carrots, salt, pepper, garlic clove and a chicken bouillon cube to made this deliciousness.  Mister called it ‘hearty’.

Thankful Thursday
